Summer Camp Staff Qualifications
Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts (Central Region) hires over 250 seasonal staff to work at our four day camps and two resident camps. They are at least 18 years old and have an interest in working with children. Last year, they came from all walks of life--college students (some with advanced college degrees), teachers, physical therapists, recreation specialists and nurses. Most staff were first aid/CPR certified. All waterfront staff have appropriate certifications. All staff have criminal and sexual offense checks performed by the Massachusetts Criminal History Systems Board. Three positive references are required for every staff member.

When does camp start? How long is the camp season?
Resident Camp season (including staff training): June 21 - August 17, 2008
Day Camp season (including staff training): June 23 - August 16, 2008
How old do I need to be to work at camp?
Camp staff must be at least 18 years old or a high school graduate at the time employment begins.

Complete the camp staff application form and fax it to 617-350-5246 or mail it to Camp Staff, Girl Scouts of Eastern Mass. 95 Berkeley St., Boston, MA. 02116. You may also call 617-350-8335 or email campstaff@ptgirlscouts.org and one will be mailed to you.
What if I am a citizen of another country?
We require that you have a permit to work in the United States before applying to work at our camps. We accept international applicants only through the international hiring agencies. Some of the ones we work with are Camp America; Bunac; Camp Counselors USA. Please contact them for more information.
